A: You can find all new content at www.AYearOfSongs.org.
Due to infrastructure issues here at our beloved OM, I reluctantly was forced to abandon the ongoing mirroring of that blog, here.
TK Major is a longtime singer-songwriter, guitarist, and audio producer/recordist from Long Beach, California.
Most of TK's highly informal recordings here on OM are drawn from his blog, www.AYearOfSongs.org, where, every day for a year, he has vowed to post a newly recorded song from his "suitcase of songs."
TK Major is the only permanent member of one blue nine.
-- about whom Download.com says:
"Trip-hopping bossa nova shoegazers one blue nine... the soundtrack to your liquid dreams. The languid beats and slippery vocals produce the kind of lazy reverie normally associated with wormwood absinthe. one blue nine will seduce your ego while moving your feet."Born between some wars on a sunny coastal plain in a land so far away you just can't get there from here at all, TK Major has worked as a fry cook, library assistant, failed filmmaker, failed poet, dropout, shipping clerk, process server/skip tracer, gas station attendant, warehouse manager, punkrocker, private investigation transcription specialist, college synthesizer lab tech, office manager, marketing coordinator, web/database design consultant, folksinger-songwriter, and slacker multimedia producer. Major lives in Long Beach, California, with his cat, Duke, and a couple of guitars.
A note on our media files: until a few months ago, all of the media files for TK Major's A Year of Songs were uploaded through Our Media. Although the files themselves ended up on the Archive.org servers, you could find links to them in our OM page's media listings. Unfortunately, technical difficulties with the system that allowed that have forced us to upload our media files directly to Archive.org in recent months. You can still find play and download links (as well as links to the track's Archive.org page) in our blog posts for each newly recorded song -- but you won't find them in the media master list on our page here. Coming soon: A Year of Songs Database.
