but good enough to start with.

so what about the techincal thing?

Well, it's easy, if you are using video camera.

it's even more easy if you are shooting on film.

why?

on film, if you have the money to shoot on film, means you can afford to hire a camera person. so let the techician do the job.

on video? well, you may just aim and shoot like everybody.

but for sure you work is not getting any better than average folks.

so... pick up some technique.

like what?

Tai Chi of Camera.

How?

first start your video camera and shoot while you walk.

second, get a tea cup and pour it full of tea, water...really full.

now walk a long with it, turn and not to spill.

so u know how to walk. move the cup to left hand and use right hand to hold a camera.

do the same walk. and ur eyes on the viewfinder or LCD screen.

you must be walking slowly and well balanced.


compare the video before and after, you will know why is better with a cup of tea.

next.. set your camera to manual mode.

white balance once , or turn to daylight outdoor and if u know what is tungsten means.

shutter - 1/50 dec

iris - set up to make the exposure everytime, just to make a bit dark.

if your camera has zebra setting, set it at 80 percent. only white can go beyond 80 percent.

focus - turn it off too.

Why? just do it. don't ask why.

roll you camera.

show your hand in front of the camera and make a count down with 5 fingers. 5,4,3,2,1,....

continue to shoot whatever ur at.

cut? wait ,count to 5 too.

ok , zoom in / zoom out.

yeah, cool,

well... try to do zooming only when ur camera is not rolled.

what about the light?

what light? just shot whatever when the light is at your back.

if you see ur shadow in picture , avoid it.

when you got a good shot, make a safety shot after that.

means repeat the same for safety, video is dirt cheap.

but time is money. so try to control your self don't over shot

and make up ur mind. don't tell people "I dont know..."
