Net Band "Packet-In" releases CC BY-SA licensed album
Packet-In, formerly LAU-CB (Linux-Audio-User Chillout Band): May be the first ever attempt at duplicating Free Software in the Music realm. They are making Libre Music with Libre Software and aim at providing sources.
They recently succeeded in releasing their first full length album and submitting it for the RPM Challenge.

A few people from across the globe contributed individual tracks which are released under the CC by SA license.
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/us/
This means that if you like the drum track (or any other part) for a song, you can go online and download it and re-use it for another creation as long as you make the proper attribution and use the same license on the resultant work. We encourage anyone doing so to also make "the parts" available to the world as we do.
Also, the only software used in making each track was Linux running free/open source software. After the album release the collaboration noted their thoughts about the process for possible use in similar future endeavors.

Can this collaborative, Free (libre) approach mark a new horizon for the future of music?
Soon we will have up complete multi track ardour project files for each song on the album. This will allow for flexible remixing and even rerecording of the songs.
